NAIP District Leader:
We are organizing the New American Independent Party grassroots leaders by Congressional District
so we can ultimately be better prepared to take action locally and to be in a better position to recruit
and run an Army of citizen candidates for federal office and fill Presidential elector positions in 2012.
District Leaders are an important piece of our organization. It will be much easier to recruit quality
candidates when we have district leaders in place all across the country. So, just by signing up as a
district leader you would be increasing our chances of attracting a higher quantity and quality of
candidates.
Role / Duties of District Leaders
*Be a resource for NAIP candidates in your district - Our candidates will be responsible for running
their own campaigns with their own volunteers and staff. But, we would like for our district leaders to be
available to assist these candidates when needed, epecially in the very beginning. Examples include:
When a potential candidate first considers running say for the U.S. House they might not know how big
their district is in size, population and what cities/towns/counties are included within the district. We
would help our district leaders become familar with their district. We will eventually send each district
leader a map of their district, the counties/towns included and the most recent breakdowns economic
and population breakdowns. District leaders can help provide this information to potential candidates
to help them decide to run for office or not or help them create a campaign strategy.
*Be a point of contact in your district. - Interested citizens in the district may contact you on the online
district group or via email to ask questions about the party, etc. You can assist in answering those
questions. If you don't know the answer to a particular question or you are unsure how to answer then
you can simply forward the question(s) to us. We will send each district leader a list of FAQ's that
should answer 90%+ of the questions that you will likely receive.
*Be the point of contact (or designate someone else to be) for the official Congressional District group
page on this social network. - Each district will have their own group on our social networking site. Each
district leader is encouraged to create/moderate the group or atleast be a member in their district
group. This will allow district leaders to more easily communicate with members living within their district
and answer member questions. Leading their district's online group is highly recommended, but not
required for district leaders.
*Work with other NAIP members in your Congressional District to sign up 500 new members.- We have
set a goal of recruiting 500 new party members in every single district. District Leaders can help recruit
new members and/or lead members within the district to recruit new members and reach our goal.
Some district leaders will want to recruit new members online, while other district leaders will want to
recruit at county fairs, door-to-door or hold local meetup groups. The way that each district leader
recruits new members is largely up to them. We will always send district leader suggestions & ideas for
recruiting. However, the type of recruiting and the amount of time spent on recruiting is entirely up to
each district leader. We realize that some district leaders will recruit many new members and others
less.
Other Optional Options:
*Host/ Plan meet-ups and other events with other members in your Congressional District to discuss
ways to grow the party, recruit candidates and win elections.
*Get an op-ed or letter to the editor placed in your local newspaper telling everyone why you support
the NAIP and why they should too.
NOTE: District leaders are NOT required to raise money, collect money, file campaign finance reports
or handle money in any way. District Leaders can hold fundraising events if they want, but they
certainly are not required to do so.
